To reach Brennia Kottefaru Resort from Malé airport, there are two transportation options. The first is a picturesque 40-minute seaplane flight, and the second involves a 35-minute domestic transfer to a nearby airport followed by a 20-minute speed boat ride.

Generally, we suggest the seaplane option as the preferable choice.

It's important to note that there are no boat-only transfers to Brennia Kottefaru due to the considerable distance from Malé.

Brennia Kottefaru is located in the pristine Raa Atoll of the Maldives, approximately 157 kilometres (98 miles) northwest of Malé.

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon landing at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives, completing security procedures and exiting into the arrivals hall, a resort guide will greet you holding a sign for the resort. They will provide assistance in directing you to the designated location for your onward transfer to Brennia Kottefaru and can also aid with your luggage.

The mode of onward transfer will depend on your choice between a seaplane or a domestic plane:

Option 1 - Seaplane to Brennia Kottefaru

Your resort guide will assist you and your belongings into a vehicle for transportation to the seaplane terminal, just a short drive away. At the terminal, you can complete check-in procedures and await your seaplane flight.

Brennia Kottefaru relies on Maldivian Seaplanes for transfers to the resort. Maldivian Seaplanes operate 15-seat DHC-6 Twin Otter Aircraft and are recognized as a reputable airline with a dependable track record.

Upon boarding the seaplane, the flight is expected to last approximately 40 minutes; however, the overall transfer duration might be slightly extended if the plane makes stops to drop off guests at other resorts along the way.

Seaplanes touch down on the water near Brennia Kottefaru. Upon arrival, you'll step onto the floating seaplane platform and then transfer to a boat for a short ride to reach the shores of Brennia Kottefaru. Resort staff will be on hand to assist guests and ensure the handling of luggage.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Brennia Kottefaru

The closest airport to Brennia Kottefaru is Ifuru Island. The recommended domestic airline is Maldivian, the primary carrier in the country. Maldivian operates frequent flights using air-conditioned ATR-72 and ATR42 turboprop aircraft, as well as Dash 8-200 and Dash 8-300 aircraft, known for their sturdy design, advanced safety features, and dependable performance.

This direct flight takes approximately 35 minutes with no stops along the way. Upon arrival at the local airport island, you'll proceed to board a speedboat for a 20-minute journey to your ultimate destination - Brennia Kottefaru.
