How to get to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

To reach Conrad Maldives Rangali Island from Malé airport, you can choose between a scenic 30-minute seaplane flight, available as a private or shared option, or a 25-minute domestic flight to a nearby airport, followed by a 30-minute speedboat transfer.

The resort recommends the seaplane option for most guests, except for those arriving later in the day.

Conrad Maldives Location

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is located in the South Ari Atoll, approximately 110 kilometres (68 miles) southwest of Malé.

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon arrival at Velana International Airport and clearing security, a Conrad representative will greet you in the arrivals hall with a wooden sign displaying the resort's name. They will guide you to counter number B6 in the terminal and assist with the seaplane check-in process. Assistance with luggage will also be provided.

Option 1 - Seaplane to Conrad Maldives

Two seaplane transfer options are available to Rangali Island—private or shared—both operated by Trans Maldivian Airways, who run the world’s largest seaplane fleet with 65 de Havilland Twin Otter aircraft. Known for their reliability, Trans Maldivian Airways has established a strong reputation over the years.

No matter which seaplane option you select, you'll be escorted to a vehicle for a short 5-minute drive to the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal, where you'll be guided to the Conrad Lounge to relax and enjoy complimentary refreshments while awaiting your seaplane flight to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.

The seaplane flight to Conrad Maldives takes approximately 30 minutes, although it may be slightly longer with a shared Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane, as it could make stops at other resorts along the way.

Flying at a low altitude, the seaplane offers a stunning view of the iridescent Maldivian islands.

The seaplane makes a water landing between the adult-only Rangali Island and the family-friendly Rangalifinolhu island. Upon arrival, guests disembark at the arrivals jetty and are warmly greeted by resort staff, who assist with luggage and guide them to the island.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Conrad Maldives

For International flights arriving after 15:30hrs there is a domestic flight option. However, this option is based on availability only.

Please note that domestic transfers to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island are inbound only, as all outbound transfers to Malé are via seaplane.

The nearest airport is Villa International Airport on Maamigili Island, serviced by Flyme (Villa Air) with regular flights aboard air-conditioned ATR-72 turboprop aircraft, known for their reliability. This direct, non-stop flight takes around 25 minutes. Upon landing, guests are transferred to the marina and then take a 30-minute speedboat ride to reach Rangali Island.
