How to get to Kihaa Maldives

There are two options for your transfer to Kihaa Maldives from Malé airport. The first involves a scenic seaplane flight, while the second entails a domestic transfer to a nearby airport followed by a speedboat ride. Both take approximately 30 minutes. In general, we highly recommend the seaplane option. Please note that there are no boat-only transfers to Kihaa due to the considerable distance from Malé (120 km or 75 miles).

Kihaa Maldives Location

Kihaa is located in the east of the Baa Atoll very close to the Baa Atoll domestic airport on Dharavandhoo, north-west of Malé.

Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

Upon arriving in the Maldives at Malé airport (Velana International) and clearing security, a resort guide will greet you in the arrivals hall by holding a wooden signpost with the resort name. They will assist in directing you to your onward transfer point and can offer support with luggage as needed.

Your onwards journey will depend whether you choose seaplane or domestic transfer:

Option 1 - Seaplane to Kihaa Maldives

After your arrival, your resort guide will help you and your belongings into a vehicle for a brief drive to the seaplane terminal. Once at the terminal, check in and wait for your seaplane flight. Enjoy close-up views of the seaplanes or access to the lounge to relax before your flight.

Kihaa uses Manta Air seaplanes for transportation to the resort. These aircraft are among the latest seaplanes in the Maldives, operating on a predetermined schedule to minimize waiting times.

The seaplane flight typically lasts about 30 minutes; nevertheless, if there are stops to deliver guests to other Baa atoll resorts, the transfers may take slightly longer.

Landing on the water near the island resort, seaplanes create a memorable arrival experience. After stepping onto the floating seaplane platform, you'll board a dhoni (local ferry boat) for a brief journey to your first steps on Kihaa Maldives. The resort staff will be ready to assist guests and manage luggage.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to Kihaa Maldives

Kihaa's closest airport is situated on the island of Dharavandhoo. The recommended domestic carrier is Maldivian Air, providing regular flights to Dharavandhoo.

The brief, non-stop flight takes approximately 20 minutes. Upon arriving at the local airport island, you'll embark on a short 5-minute speedboat ride to reach your final destination -Kihaa.
