On the island of Fonimagoodhoo located in the unspoilt beauty of the Baa Atoll - an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve - lies Reethi Beach Resort. “Reethi” in the local language means “Beautiful” and this affordable resort has all the classic beauty that you want from a holiday in the Maldives.

Reethi Beach Resort sits in the North-East corner of the Baa Atoll, around 40 minutes from Malé airport. The best way to get there is by seaplane, but it's also possible to take a domestic flight to the Baa Atoll airport island of Dharavandhoo followed by a short speedboat ride.

Villas at Reethi Beach Resort

Reethi Beach Resort offers seven villa types and over 124 rooms, but never feels busy.

All villas are fully air-conditioned and each room has it's own dedicated sun loungers on the beach, so there's no need to rush to try and reserve one in the morning!

On land you can choose between beach villas - your pick of a sunrise or sunset view - or garden villas set slightly further back into the island. There are also larger 2-bedroom family villas and a single exclusive Reethi Suite.

If you like the idea of direct access to the sea from your private balcony then consider a Water Villa which is set directly over the water on wooden stilts.

All villas come with king-size beds and a sofa bed. An additional mattress can be added to most rooms for those traveling with more than one child.

Sunrise Villa

These beautiful beach villas are situated on the sunrise side of the island, nestled amidst tropical vegetation and just a few steps from the stunning beach.

Featuring traditional Maldivian open-air bathrooms, they are the most affordable accommodation on the island and are conveniently located near the dive centre, spa, and main restaurant.

Garden Villa

These villas are nestled within the lush garden area of the island, boasting their own private terraces and just a short walk from the beach.

They are conveniently located near the swimming pool and sports complex.

Sunset Villa

These beach villas are situated on the sunset side (west side) of the island, surrounded by tropical vegetation and just a few steps from the beautiful beach.

Available with either a king-size bed or twin beds, these villas feature partially open-air bathrooms and are the smallest accommodations on the island. Each villa comes with two deckchairs on your own patio, perfect for watching the sunset.

Deluxe Sunset Villa

Located on the West side by the exquisite sandy beach these detached Deluxe beach villas are set amid tropical vegetation and just a few steps from the beautiful beach.

They have a larger seating area, terrace with deckchairs, a Maldivian style open-air bathroom and a traditional Maldivian swing just outside.

Reethi Beach Resort have 30 semi-detached Water Villas built on stilts over the pristine waters of the lagoon.

Hear the subtle movements of the water, see the bio luminescent plankton in the moonlight and watch the stars from your balcony. Each contains a king size bed, large sitting area, bathroom with bathtub and shower and a private balcony with sun loungers and umbrella as well as direct access to the lagoon via your personal ladder.

Family Villa

The Reethi Beach Resorts family villas consist of two bedrooms with two terraces.

These bedrooms are interconnected, making them the perfect choice for families, especially those with older children who need their own space. With a double bed in one room, twin beds in the other, and a sitting area in both rooms, as well as two open-air bathrooms.

The Reethi Suite

Located on the East side of the island, the one and only Reethi Suite is the largest villa at Reethi Beach Resort. It comprises two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two terraces, and a spacious living area for sitting and dining.

Featuring open-air bathrooms and king-sized beds, the Reethi Suite accommodates up to six occupants, with a maximum of four adults. It's ideal for families or friend groups and is only a few steps from the beach.

Things to do at Reethi Beach

Reethi Beach is large enough to have plenty to do whilst still being small enough to feel secluded and private.

The island boasts a fresh-water swimming pool which is great for the whole family.

There's a 5* PADI dive centre suitable for beginners and experienced divers alike, and the tranquil Coconut Spa offers the ultimate in relaxation.

For something more active try your hand at water sports from paddleboarding to jet-skiing or keep up with your fitness routine at the island gym. There's even tennis courts on the island.

Don't miss the daily sting-ray feeding at sunset - and grab a drink from the Rasgefaanu bar on your way!

Swimming Pool

Reethi Beach Resort has a 12m freshwater swimming pool next door to the Sports Complex. Despite being a communal pool it's rarely busy and it's not unusual to have it to yourself.

Largely shaded with plenty of seating and next to the Veyo Bar this is the perfect spot for families or couples to exercise, relax or play.

Coconut Spa

Relax and unwind at the island's boutique spa, managed and operated by Coconut spa, a recognised brand in the Maldives. Arrive early so you have time to change into the provided kimono and slippers and sip on delicious iced tea whilst you wait for you appointment.

With numerous massages on offer as well as reflexology, foot treatments, hair treatments, body scrubs, body wraps, skin treatments, facials, manicures and aromatherapy baths there is something for everyone.

All therapists are professionally trained and are masters in combining all elements of self-pampering and holistic healing. The products used are made form natural, high quality ingredients and are available to buy at the Spa Boutique.

Scuba Diving

The 5* PADI Dive Centre run by Ocean Fanatics has an experienced and friendly team ready to help you explore the underwater world.

Courses are offered for everyone from complete beginners to those looking to do more advanced training. All equipment can be hired on the island and nitrox is available.

There are typically three boat dives available every day, a morning double and an afternoon single. The house reef is also available to explore at your leisure after an orientation dive.

House Reef and Snorkelling

Reethi Beach has a fantastic house reef which is easily accessible.

The best place to snorkel is the Western side of the island. Here you will find beautiful coral reef and plenty of marine life including tropical fish, rays, friendly reef sharks, star fish and maybe even a turtle or two. Avoid the East side of the island near the jetties and boat traffic.

In addition to snorkelling around the house reef you'll also have the opportunity to join snorkelling excursions to wildlife hotspots, including Hanifaru Bay.

The dive centre is your go-to resource for any questions about snorkelling such as equipment hire, tide times, currents, snorkelling safety, excursions, and general advice. Reethi Beach also uses standard beach warning flags to indicate swimming conditions so its worth familiarizing yourself with these.

Water Sports

There are numerous options to indulge in if you're a water sports enthusiast. Apart from snorkelling, swimming, and diving, there's a plethora of water-based activities to enjoy during your stay.

From canoeing and paddle boarding to windsurfing and wakeboarding, jet skiing, flyboarding, fun tubing, and catamaran rentals, there's something for everyone, regardless of age or experience level.

The Reethi Beach Sport Complex consists of two flood lit open-air tennis courts, two indoor badminton courts, a squash court, a table tennis table and a well-equipped gym. Guests to the resort receive complementary access for the gym facilities as well as the outdoor swimming pool next door.

In a room behind the main bar you will find a games room filled with board games, books, darts board, table tennis, table football (foosball/fußball), billiards and a TV. Perfect to fill up the odd hours between activities.

Sandy Toes is a small boutique located near the main reception. It sells every essentials such as toothbrushes, sun cream and beauty products as well as clothing, jewellery, toys, postcards and souvenirs, including hand-crafted items deigned to blend in with the Maldivian culture and traditions. The shop accepts US dollars, card payments or you can charge it to your room where it will be added to your final bill.

Dining at Reethi Beach

With five restaurants and four bars at Reethi, plus private dinning options available, you'll be spoilt for choice.

It's worth trying the Reethi Grill with fresh choose-your-own seafood and flame-grilled steaks, and the Saima Garden for an intimate dinner on the beach.

Our favourite for casual lunches is the Moodhu Bar, which is set directly over the turquoise waters and enjoys a gentle sea breeze.

Main Restaurant: The Rehendhi

The Rehendhi is the main restaurant on the island and hosts a buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Each night offers a themed dinner, drawing inspiration from cuisines and dishes from around the world. It would take two weeks to experience every theme!

*The Rehendi offers an earlier but more limited breakfast for guests needing to depart early for international flights or morning excursions.

Moodhu Bar & Restaurant

The Moodhu Bar and Restaurant is situated on stilts over the water of the lagoon and open from 11am until 11pm. Watch the marine life below and enjoy the romantic, relaxed atmosphere with beautiful ocean views.

The Moodhu Bar offers an extensive dining menu of both western and eastern influences plus a wide range of cocktails, wines, beers and soft drinks.

It's a great lunch option for guests on half-board packages.

Reethi Grill

If you're a seafood or grill lover, don't miss dining at the open-air Reethi Grill. You can even select your own lobster, fish, or prawns from the display (or choose something from the menu).

Set under beautiful canopies on the beach, you'll hear the crashing waves and gaze at the starlit sky, all while enjoying freshly grilled food and an authentic 'live cooking' experience.

Open for dinner from 7:30pm onwards, except Fridays, the Reethi Grill offers a spectacular outdoor dining experience.

Saima Garden

Located on the beach, the Saima Garden offers an intimate and charming boutique-style dining experience.

With only 5 tables available you'll receive an elegant, attentive service, making this the perfect choice for celebrating life’s special events.

The Saima Garden is open for dinner only from 7.30pm - 10.00pm and is closed on Fridays.

Alifaan Restaurant

This a-la-carte, pool side restaurant is open daily for lunch from 11:00am until 6:00pm. A very popular and relaxed location serving casual favourites such as burgers, pizzas, wraps, fries, and salads.

Main Bar: Rasgefaanu

Reethi Beach Main Bar

This semi enclosed bar is next to the main restaurant. With an open-air deck shaded by palm trees it's the ideal location to socialise and grab your pre or post meal drinks.

With a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks the main bar welcomes everyone, including children.

The occasional musical evening entertainment such as presentations by Ocean Fanatics, DJ nights as well as Bodu Beru (traditional Maldivian drum dance) add to the atmosphere. While on other nights you can play billiards, table tennis or pick from the wide range of board games in the games room behind the bar.

The Sunset Bar

The Sunset Bar is situated on the beach at the South-West tip of the island, offering the perfect spot to watch the sun descend after a day in paradise. It's an ideal photo opportunity, with a cocktail in hand.

Handhuvaru Bar

The Handhuvaru Bar is located amid tropical vegetation on the Northern tip of the island, nearest the water villas. This gathering spot has a real 'jungle feel' to it! Open from midday until 8pm, there is always a shaded seat with a garden view available. The perfect place to unwind and keep cool and have a chat with the bar keeper.

Veyo Bar

Enjoy the relaxed, family friendly atmosphere poolside with cocktails and beers at the Veyo Bar. They also offer a wide range of fruit juices, non-alcoholic beverages, mocktails and ice cream making it an all-round family favourite.

If you have allergies or intolerances there is no need to worry. Staff are well versed in food related allergies and are there to help.

All food in the main buffet restaurant is clearly labelled with allergen information. All other restaurants include allergen information on their menus.
