To reach The Westin Maldives, there are two travel options departing from Malé airport. The first option involves a captivating seaplane journey, providing scenic views along the way. The second option includes a domestic transfer to a nearby airport, followed by a speedboat ride. Both routes usually take approximately 35 minutes. Our general recommendation is the seaplane option, as it is considered the best choice for a more enjoyable experience. Your Arrival at Malé Airport (MLE)

After your arrival at Malé airport (Velana International) in the Maldives and the completion of security checks, a resort guide will be waiting to welcome you in the arrivals hall. They will guide you to the specific area for your onward transfer to The Westin Maldives and can provide assistance with your luggage.

Your onwards journey will depend whether you choose seaplane or domestic transfer:

Option 1 - Seaplane to The Westin Maldives

Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane for The Westin Maldives

Your resort guide will assist you and your belongings into a Westin Maldives minibus for a short drive to the seaplane terminal. At the terminal, you can check in and await your seaplane flight. During this time, take pleasure in close-up views of the seaplanes and spend time in The Westin Maldives private lounge with complimentary drinks, buffet and Wi-Fi.

The Westin Maldives uses Trans Maldivian Airways seaplanes for transfers to the resort. They possess the most expansive seaplane fleet in the Maldives and has built up a reputation for reliability.

The seaplane flight is typically around 35 minutes, but the transfer duration may be a bit longer if there are stops to deliver guests to other resorts within the Baa atoll.

Making a water landing near the island, seaplanes offer a distinctive approach to arrival. If the sea is not rough, the seaplane will land next to the island itself. However if the sea is rough the the landing will be at a floating jetty or at a nearby island where you'll be collected by a speedboat and taken to the resort. Resort staff will be on hand to help guests and manage luggage.

Option 2 - Domestic Transfer to The Westin Maldives

Manta Air domestic transfer for The Westin Maldives

The Westin Maldives closest airport is situated on the island of Dharavandhoo. The recommended domestic carrier is Manta Air, which have regular flights to Dharavandhoo aboard air-conditioned ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft, known for the lowest greenhouse gas emissions and unrivalled fuel efficiency.

The short, non-stop flight lasts approximately 20 minutes. After landing on the local airport island, a 15-minute speedboat ride awaits, taking you to The Westin Maldives resort.
