In 2023, the Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) opened the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal, the largest seaplane terminal in the world, to accommodate the extensive seaplane operations within the archipelago, which averages around 600 flights daily. This state-of-the-art facility features a total of 42 lounges, with 40 of them leased to various resorts, enhancing the travel experience for visitors. Following its inauguration, Trans Maldivian Airways relocated to this brand-new and enhanced seaplane facility. The Noovilu Seaplane Terminal signifies a substantial investment in infrastructure, underscoring the Maldives' dedication to offering a luxurious and efficient travel experience for those exploring its breath taking islands and atolls.

Lounges

Many resorts provide a private or shared seaplane terminal lounge for their guests. These lounges often offer amenities such as washing facilities, comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, drinks, and light bites. Some lounges also feature shower facilities and children's play areas. For resorts or guesthouses that do not include lounge access, guests have the option to pay to use a general lounge. Your wait time may vary, potentially being very short or up to 3 hours. Upon arrival, guests will receive an estimated waiting time, allowing them to decide whether to pay for lounge access. For those who opt not to use a lounge, there will still be seats and toilet facilities available.
